How many diets have you been on in your lifetime? Do you ever feel like the one you’re on deserves a good kick in the ass? What if you could take your diet to court for lying to you? Can you imagine the evidence you would have to support your case? Not only do diets lie, but self-sabotage prevents sustainable weight loss.

Diets lie and self-sabotage will always prevent healthy weight loss.

That is because diets don’t work and self-sabotage sets you up to fail. First, let’s look at how diets lie and then we will explore how your self-sabotage prevents sustainable weight loss.

Diets create a sense of deprivation and starvation. Diets teach you that there are good foods and bad foods, right? Let’s face reality and admit that hunger is a huge reason why diets don’t work, and you’ve been seriously deceived.

In addition, diets are isolating. You can’t hang out with friends and eat and drink freely. That could cost you in calories or points!

Diets create a quick fix mentality. If you don’t hit your goals fast enough, you tend to throw in the towel. It’s so discouraging to think you’re doing all the right things and yet the needle on that scale does not budge. It may even go up!

There are also underlying emotional reasons why diets have failed you. Diets don’t tend to address any of the reasons why weight or food have been an issue for you in the first place. I’ve known so many women, even some who have had bariatric surgery only to gain the weight back and more because the underlying emotional needs are still being neglected.

The problem persists as you believe you are the failure, however, I’m here to announce that you are not a failure at all. Your body is not meant to deprive itself from certain foods or food groups. Food is not meant to be labeled as good or bad. You’re not meant to isolate yourself. And you cannot force your body to land at a certain weight.

All of this is a form of abuse to your body! For more on how diets have lied to you, read this blog. The fact is that diets lie and your self-sabotage prevents your sustainable weight loss.

I know that each time you start a new diet or lifestyle plan, you have the best of intentions. This time will be different, at least that is what you think and hope. But you and I both know, it’s a matter of time before you’re diving back into old habits and feeling defeated, once again. Learning mindfulness tools as well as understanding your own patterns of self-sabotage is life changing.

I’m curious if you’re aware of what in reality is causing you to self-sabotage your healthiest of intentions for sustainable weight loss?

Now let’s take a deeper look and see what resonates with you regarding your own self-sabotage habits.

You go in with the positive mindset and energetic motivation that is bound to succeed. Surely you have the willpower this time. You can face your inner demons and stop eating for all those emotional reasons. White knuckling your way through hunger and deprivation this time will be so worth it!

UGH, you know the cycle all too well and at some point, only you know when, you will eat something you “shouldn’t” and feel completely helpless to do anything about it. That sense of hopelessness and helplessness is probably one of the worst feelings, don’t you think?

There is way to lose weight without losing your mind, or your joy, or your self-esteem. This is not a too good to be true statement. Well, at least, because I can actually back it up with my own personal journey plus the incredible women I work with. However, no matter what, if you don’t stop sabotaging your efforts, nothing you do or don’t do will make a bit of difference.

I’m putting this out there because I’m wanting to know if you might be right for my next Women’s Sustainable Weight Loss Intensive. I need to know if you are willing to step out of this cycle, divorce the diet world mentality, and learn a whole new way to relate to food and your body.
